Board members Trudy and Michael are working with Rev. Alexis in adjusting our constitution and bylaws so they are updated in a way that reflects our context and supports the church's mission. This is a process that takes time and will have several phases, the first one being movement toward the board focusing on governance and staff focusing on ministries. We will also simplify the current committee structure and responsibilities. A special gathering will be scheduled to share additional information and answer your questions, so stay tuned to learn more. In the meantime, you are welcome to contact Trudy, Michael, or Rev. Alexis and Trudy attended a day long webinar with Rev. Hotchkiss and are excited by how the upcoming adjustments will clarify, simplify and streamline what is asked of staff and lay leaders.
Establishing our mission and focus as a church will also inform our updates, so you are encouraged to participate in gatherings that will facilitate that discernment process when they are offered.
