We are experiencing new things!
FCC Claremore is sporting a new, all-weather, asphalt parking lot.
The interior will have a new look soon. We received grant money from the Northeast Area of the Christian Church of Oklahoma. We have hired a contractor to install a hard surface wood floor in our sanctuary, gathering room, hallway, classroom, and restrooms. New seating in our sanctuary will have stacking church armchairs. The renovations will make our building safer for our congregational members. The proposed renovation project will allow us to configure the sanctuary for special events; flexibility to host seasonal dinners; provide additional seating for funerals or weddings; and allow for the use of small groups within the sanctuary.
We are in the process of beginning a business relationship with a remote bookkeeper who checks in with us weekly to discuss our financials. The remote service will provide reports for board meetings, too.
We are in the planning stages of revising our by-laws that can work better for a smaller congregation.
Personnel committee has completed revising the music director job description. We are making strides to update employment policies relating to non-ministerial employee’s handbook.
I am looking forward to the weather being cooler, with that in mind, we have set the date for the First Americans Museum field trip for Saturday, October 8. A sign-up sheet will be available in the entry hall after Labor Day.
See you in Church,
