Lexington Seminary's Lay School of Theology is offering a three session course that all are welcome to attend entitled "The Bible, The Church, and Social Issues." If you would like to join Rev. Alexis and others in participating in this class, please email her by September 10: Alexis@fccclaremore.org. We'll meet in the gathering room at church and will participate via Zoom on September 10, 17, and 24 from 9-11 AM.
Here is how Lexington describes the course and introduces the instructor:
"In this Lay School, we will examine how the Bible can speak to social issues today.  We will talk about how to use what we find in the Bible to bring it to bear legitimately and consistently on questions and issues we face. We will then turn to the kinds of issues Scripture addresses, such as economic polity and reproductive rights, among others, and examine them. We will also talk about how to discuss these issues in our churches.

Dr. Jerry Sumney is Professor of Biblical Studies at Lexington Theological Seminary.
