First Christian Church of Claremore

(Disciples of Christ)

Today’s young people have much to offer communities of faith within the Christian movement. Their energy and more globally informed sensitivities provide often-needed perspectives for a movement that sometimes gets lost in the haze of a nostalgia of years gone by.

Congregations of Jesus followers, devoted to justice and wholeness for a fragmented world, need the wisdom and experience accumulated by seasoned disciples. And they need the freshness of younger disciples! At First Christian Claremore we affirm and accept younger disciples as full participants in the outward and inward expressions of our faith community.

In fact, youth at Claremore FCC often lead the way in bringing these expressions to bear on the community. From participation in critical justice movements to co-directing church sponsored camps and events, young people at Claremore FCC contribute to the momentum that carries us forward. There is a lot of work to do for those claiming to walk the way of Jesus, and at Claremore FCC, whether you’re a young person in elementary or a veteran of the high school world, you’ll find a place to plug in and offer yourself to the work of faith that compels us.
